General and Peer Awards
The following awards are awarded at the discretion of the Geschwaderkommodore (Geschwader Commander) for actions he deems worthy of recognition.
Honor Roll Clasp of the Luftwaffe
Ehrenblatt Spange des Luftwaffe
Ehrenblatt Spange des Luftwaffe is awarded for overall effort, conduct and commitment by pilots that reflects credit on themselves, their unit and the AHII community. This is the highest discretionary award for JG11.
Grand Cross of the Order of the German Eagle
Grand Cross of the Order of the German Eagle Großkreuz des Deutschen Adlerordens Awarder for exceptional, proven leadership in a position of command.
Order of the German Eagle with Swords
Verdienstorden vom Deutschen Adler mit Schwerten
Awarded for exceptional fighter performance not covered by other awards.
Order of the German Eagle
Verdienstorden vom Deutschen Adler
Awarded for exceptional non-fighter performance not covered by other awards.
Grand Star of the German Cross
Großstern des Deutsches Kreuz
For meritorious actions in the face the enemy. This is a peer award and can only be given if nominated by another member of the squad.

Anti-Aircraft Gunner's Badge
Flak-Kampfabzeichen One time award for exceptional skill as an Anti-Aircraft Gunner. Only recipient: Fw. der Flak Vilkas, 01.2009. 1,116 enemy aircraft downed between tours 99 and 107.
Although JG11 is first and foremost a Jagdgeschwader (fighter wing), we recognize the achievements of our members in the other elements of Aces High. We do this through the awarding of Ehrenblatt Spange, or honor roll clasps. These clasps consist of a combination of a ribbon and a qualification badge. The ribbon
denotes the level of achievement required to earn the award, the qualification badge shows in which Aces High discipline the achievements were made. These ribbons are shown below:
      Awarded for ranking in the top 10 in the indicated category during a MA tour.
      Awarded for ranking in the top 50 in the indicated category during a MA tour.
      Awarded for ranking in the top 100 in the indicated category during a MA tour.

Zwei Abschüßen Awarded to a pilot for successfully shooting down 2 enemy planes during the same FSO mission.

Ranks
Jagdgeschwader 11 uses a rank system based on the ranks of the Luftwaffe in World War 2. Rank is earned through a combination of time in the Geschwader and performance in the Arenas. We do not use these ranks as a chain of command. We use them to enhance our immersion into the WW2 Luftwaffe mindset. Individual's ranks are displayed on the Roster page.




Recruit Enlisted NCO Officer Staff Officer
Pilots join JG11 as a Rekrut (recruit). After 2 tours, pilots are promoted to the enlisted ranks and, through a
combination of time in the squad and achievement in the arenas, earn promotions through the Enlisted, Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) and Officer ranks up to the rank of Oberleutnant (1st Lieutenant). Field
Grade Officers are appointed by the Geschwaderkommodore (the squadron commander) with Majors being members of the Geschwader Stab (staff) and the rank of Oberstleutnant (Lieutenant Colonel) being reserved for the Geschwaderkommodore.Below are the JG11 ranks and their requirements:
